I find it rather funny that (besides not getting a match for the song I tapped out) the first two Google ads on the page said:

1) “This is scary accurate” (A fortune telling site.)

2) “Stupid Test”

LOL

*Goes back to test with some songs he actually knows the artist and title for.*

I went to the “Stupid Test” link…
The questions where extreamly easy, at the end of the test, it asked for my personal information (even my phone number)  inwhich I filled in a buncha gibberish, and then it does not show my results LOL

Smerk the cutest dragon
Lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist
In Western Australi

Little Accipiter loved that girl enough
He told her jokes and crazy facts
And other forum stuff

Smerk the cutest dragon:
Traveled cross the sea,
To hunt her prey in foriegn lands,
And snuggle with Acci!

Smerk the cutest dragon
Is getting married now they say
Though little Accipiter
Has yet to name the day.

Surprisingly it correctly guessed “The Entertainer”.  It missed “Sing”, even on the far more recognizable la la la lala part.  It also missed “Tom’s Diner”, which I would have thought to be an easy one.

“Brandenburg Concerto No.3 in G major” didn’t stand a chance.

Hmm, it actually is accurate at times.  It got Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony, Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” (it couldn’t guess it from the beginning part, but it did get it from a later section), “Hava Nagila”, “La Marseillaise”, “God Save the Queen” (it got the music right, although it guessed the American version of the song), and “The Great Gate of Kiev”.

It didn’t do so hot on Holst’s “Mars”, Mussorgsky’s “Night On Bald Mountain”, the old Soviet national anthem, Khaled’s “Aicha”, Queen’s “Another One Bites the Dust”, “Mister Sandman”, “Ey Ukhnem”, or “The Llama Song”.  And “Who Let the Dogs Out” crashed the program, which I suppose is a sort of nonverbal commentary on the song.

It is more accurate depending how many people submit results, I did not expect it to 100% accurate, but both the results and many random people using what they consider a beat can be a factor. Plus the billions of songs out there there do not help in the least, it is used more for fun than a real check for a song.

Try finding a Techno/Trace/(of versions)/Rap/Hip-Hop/Rap for what you type, quite impossible, their database is not large enough. and there is just too many songs and too many “Beats” (or what people consider beats) to consider…

but like I said, it is tooo fun play with =)
