Ummm…is this a certain somebody’s latest Project? hmmm

Rabbit-Headed cat carcasses found in Scotland

WE HAVE real-life beasties such as the midge and fantastical monsters such as Nessie, but now investigators believe they have found a new fearsome creature roaming the forests and glens of Scotland.

Researchers have produced two carcasses of what they hope is a previously undiscovered species - a large rabbit-headed wildcat.

The mystery black mammal has a small head, a large snout, long canine teeth and - most distinctively - long ears which bear a resemblance to a rabbit or hare.

Big cat hunters are calling on gamekeepers to help trap a live rabbit-headed cat so its identity can be established once and for all.

How come they never show pictures with these stories?

TIM:

ARTHUR:
  You silly sod!
TIM:
  What?
ARTHUR:
You got us all worked up!
TIM:
  Well, that’s no ordinary rabbit!
ARTHUR:

ROBIN:
You tit! I soiled my armour I was so scared!
TIM:
Look, that rabbit’s got a vicious streak a mile wide! It’s a killer!
GALAHAD:
  Get stuffed!
TIM:
He’ll do you up a treat, mate.
GALAHAD:

ROBIN:

TIM:

ROBIN:

ARTHUR:
Go on, Bors. Chop his head off!
BORS:

ARTHUR:

TIM:
  I warned you!
ROBIN:
  I done it again!
TIM:
I warned you, but did you listen to me? Oh, no, you knew it all, didn’t you? Oh, it’s just a harmless little bunny, isn’t it? Well, it’s always the same. I always tell them—
ARTHUR:
  Oh, shut up!

Hrm, in searching the net looking for pictures of these beasties, I’ve discovered that the two carcasses mentioned in the article were recovered in the late 80’s and early 90s. So not a new story at all.

They also don’t really look all that remarkable.

Every other source regarding these cats uses the term Kellas and “rabbit eared” interchangeably, but I think the point this woman is trying to make is that these particular cats may be a new species, apart from the Kellas cat.

Surely DNA tests could be done with little trouble.

More pictures here.

eh, the ears arent THAT long. I was thinking of a cat with ears that are actually as long as a rabbits ears. my cat kinda looks like that if I pick her up by the scruff of her neck.

Yeah, rather disappointing. That explains why they didn’t put the pictures in with the news article though wink. Cunning journalists - wanting us all to picture rabid mutant cats with 10cm ears…

Talk about a let down. I was envisioning something much cooler than a cat with slightly large ears.
