Yeah, it’s one of those movies which I don’t think I’d really want to watch again.

Is there any particular reason why the computer may be running slowly, or is it just gremlins?

Well, when we upgraded the system last year, the new server didn’t have anywhere to do backups to, so it was set up that my computer would be the backup for the server.  So currently my computer is backing up the server, along with me doing all my usual stuff of having multiple programs running simultaneously.  It’s mainly the backup that’s really making everything slow.

Hmm.  Sounds like you should get some old computer that you can stick in the closet and let it quietly be the backup out of the way.

No, what I actually need is for our IT guy to come round and install a tape drive on the server and set it all up so that the backups occur overnight when no one’s here.

Boo’s dinosaur isn’t big enough to backup our server.

So, aside from retarded computing abilities, how are things at the office?

It’s been busy…the phone keeps on ringing at inconvenient moments and having multiple calls coming in.  And it’s taken two hours for me to process the mornings correspondence.
