Dave,
Thanks for starting the new thread and bringing everyone up to date quickly. I see we already have a few people with some good questions about apparent inconsistencies of this “miracle” product. Keep them coming folks. Be warned though, you may be threatened with a libel suit if you say anything that could upset the golden apple cart!
So far, after a half-dozen or so posts, Karma has yet to give one piece of real evidence in support of the “world-moving” Harmony Chip. A real scientist would be citing (relevant) research papers, studies, and peer-reviewed analysis. Instead all we have are ad hominen attacks against anyone who dares to doubt his word. This is not science and all but proves Karma has no scientific credentials. He is also fond of saying I don’t either but I openly admit that.
Still, it’s possible for the layperson to judge the validity of scientific claims without being a scientific researcher and that is what we do here. The trick is learn and apply the scientific method as well as critical thinking to these claims. One technique is to see what other scientists (peers) think of the claims in question. For example, if one scientist claims the Earth is flat, without irrefutable evidence to back it up, and all the other (qualified) scientists say it is round, due to overwhelming observational and theoretical evidence, then it’s a pretty good bet the Earth is round. In this case, I predict we will have a difficult time finding even one bona fide physicist that has even heard of the Harmony Chip let alone one that agrees with the “nuts and bolts” explanation given by the inventor.
I continue to challenge Karma Singh to apply for the JREF $1,000,000 Paranormal Challenge. This would prove his case as well as net him a cool million bucks. Now most of the scam artists who have been invited to apply seem to say the same things: Randi doesn’t have the money(see page 3, line 68) or he will cheat to prevent anyone from winning (Randi does not conduct the test). Since the applicant must agree to the test protocol, they can easily insist on conditions that will prevent the other side having the advantage. This should be no problem for the ultra-advanced, leading edge, Harmony Chip scientists. Yet none of them dare to admit taking the test under mutually agreed upon conditions with national media coverage will ensure that even if the JREF did cheat, the applicant will have the world-wide publicity of being duped by them, prove their product beyond the shadow of a doubt, and have grounds for a lawsuit. No, they conveniently disregard these obvious facts in their attempt to avoid undergoing a test they know they can’t pass. So will Karma Singh be one of these or will he step up to the plate and prove his case to the world?
