I don’t remember the one in California, I was too young at the time to really appreciate it.  The one in Florida was really cool, though.  It was the best ride I rode.

Just FYI - There IS an “easter egg” at the end of the credits… if you wait.

I’m also quite confused how this film, and the prior one, can be considered ‘Family Entertainment’.  It seemed very violent to me, with many, many people dying.  While I applaud that in a pirate movie, I wouldn’t be marketing it to children.

I went in Disneyworld but it was the same, a drop, a naval battle, going through pirate town and seeing the guys in jail waving the bone at the dog.  I know the one at Disneyworld was under reconstruction this spring to make it more like the next two movies so it probably changed the same.  The ride itself doesn’t sound too much changed except for the removal of a few of the more adult bits and the addition of johnny.  I just think it’s silly that they’re doing that.  The movie’s based on the ride, not the other way around.

Well, I went to see the movie last night, and the power went out as I was getting my tickets.  So I suppose I’ll be seeing it some other time instead.  It’s all an evil Communist plot to deprive me, that’s what it is.

I like how there’s an option of “too busy perving on J. Depp to notice the movie” but no “too busy perving on Keira to notice the movie.”

What gives here….???

I think I’d have to pick Depp over Knightley myself.  She just doesn’t do it for me. 😛

Haven’t seen the new one yet, however, I’m a huge fan of the ride.  The thing with the pirates chasing the women: They didn’t take them out, they just put food in the women’s hands so it’s like the pirates are chasing the food rather then the women themselves.  That was actually done quite awhile ago.  My last time on the pirates ride at Disneyland was this past January.  I didn’t see anything changed about the ride or any Johnny Depp, though I must say, seeing Johnny Depp would have been….quite nice actually.  The added movie stuff must be a pretty recently added feature to advertise the new movie and may be only temporary.

When the first Pirates movie came out I rode the ride the first week or two of the movie, but didn’t see any movie paraphenalia then.  Frankly, I love Disneyland and the rides and I hate when they change them like that.  Kind of like when they change the haunted mansion between Oct and Dec every year to be all Nightmare Before Christmas.  Now, as much as that’s one of my favorite movies and I’m a huge fan of Tim Burton and Danny Elfman, I am so dissapointed by the ride.  It’d be so much nicer if they just let it alone.

I hope the pirates ride additions are merely temporary.

Well, I saw POTC2, and I’m… bemused by it.

I enjoyed it, although not as much as the first one, but the jumps between rather violent and gory bits and those bits which were pure slapstick were a bit abrupt (and I think there was a bit much slapstick, but YMMV).

I suppose I was left at the end of it thinking that I’d just watched a 2 and a half hour teaser for the third film. If that makes any sense.

Anyway, compared with some of the stuff I watch, it was pretty good.
