Any of you brits (or anywhere else it might be shown) seen this show? I know it’s for little kids, but I loved (and still love) it!

My ambition is to be a presenter on the show, so I wondered if anyone on here happens to work, have worked, or knows anyone who works in the media industry. Didnt know whether to put this in OTCC or films&TV so settled for this one. Sorry for being random 😊

(By the way, I also wanna know if there are any other Blue peter lovers, I loved Matt when I used to watch it)

I watched Blue Peter when I lived in England back in the 70s. I can’t really remember much of it, however. I also have vague memories of watching The Multicolored Swap Shop. Wasn’t that hosted by a Blue Peter announcer?

Other British kids shows I remember: The Clangers, Mole, The Magic Roundabout, The Wombles, and Jackanory.

I watched the magic rounabout!! Dougal <3 lol.

Erm, I think Noel Edmunds (sp?) was one, who does “deal or no deal” now, but not sure about the others, it was before my time >_<

I didnt know you used to live in England, learn something new every day 😊

I used to love Blue Peter, I watched it from 81/82 onwards, I’ve even got a Blue Peter Badge some where, I won it for a letter I wrote in.

Does any one remember “Jason of Star Command”?.

I used to hate Blue Peter with a passion, sorry to rain on your parade. All the presenters were so patronising and the stuff I could never make any of the stuff they built because no-one, quite frankly ever had Double sided sticky tape just lying about their house, or empty bottles and stuff!

I’ve never even heard of Blue Peter but the Brit shows I used to watch as a kid included the Wobles, Worzel Gummitch (scariest show EVER), The Goodies…can’t think of any more at the moment.

Yeah, I remember watching the Wombles, Magic Roundabout, the Goodies, and Dr Who when I was a kid.  I’d never heard of Blue Peter until they started running through Dr Who from the beginning a few years back, and I was reading background stuff on the BBC site, and discovered that one of the Dr’s companions in the 60’s went on to be a Blue Peter presenter.

That’d be Peter Pervis
I think he was there at the same time as the Character Victoria (can’t remember the actresses name)

Dammit Shar!  I had to spend time looking it up.  I remembered it was Peter Purves, but I thought (erroneously) that he was later than Vicki (Maureen O’Brien).

Here’s a link which includes a Blue Peter picture.  It makes this post almost relevant!  It’s about Emu, the rubber bird that terrorized a generation.  Apparently, the late Rod Hull’s son Toby is now operating the evil bird.  Children’s TV hosts is once again in danger!

Relatedly, anyone remember the cult Australian kid’s show Canoe Squad?
