KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) - A man who apparently severed his penis in an attempt to convince his wife that he was faithful to her was recovering after surgery to reattach the organ at a northern Malaysian hospital, a news report said Tuesday.

The 41-year-old man, who was not identified, got into an argument last Friday with his wife, who found a text message on his mobile phone from another woman. The man was heard by his son shouting that he wanted to prove he was not having an affair, the New Straits Times reported.

The assertion was followed by loud screams and the man emerged from his room bleeding profusely, his 14-year-old son quoted as saying. His wife rushed him to hospital.

An x-husband tried this same thing but not to prove faithfullness.  (Let me point out that this was MANY MANY years ago…)  He nearly succeeded and his intent was glaringly clear.  I pushed his wrist away from the downward stroke and he cut his thigh instead, about 1-1/2 deep and almost 4 inches long.  He was so inebriated (probably also on drugs) that he didn’t even realize the injury.  I was screaming BELIEVE me.

Yes, he was taken to the hospital and escorted by the police….....

It would be ironic if the guy actually had been cheating on her. It does seem that he wanted to punish himself for some kind of offense.

You know, I’ve always found that honesty works best for me, however I guess if self mutilation works for you, then you gotta do what you gotta do!
