Well, tis the end of September and it’s really beginning to look like fall is setting in up here. It’s a bit confusing though because most of the trees haven’t started to change and usually by this time most of the leaves are starting to fall. So while the trees are a bit behind schedule the weather is right on. Getting colder at night for sure. Hopped on the bike for a poker run yesterday and it was a wee bit chilly for the first while. Where did summer go? Seems like I missed something there.
You’ll want to go to Cairns for the Great Barrier Reef. That’s where the wife and I went and took SCUBA lessons. It was great fun.
I’ve heard that area is great. I’m already a certified diver so I would just need to hook up with an outfit that runs daily tours. I"m pretty sure that wouldn’t be hard to do there. I’ll have to give this more consideration.
Yep. Shouldn’t be hard. In fact, you could probably find a tour that takes you out and stays overnight on a boat out there. There was actually a teaching tour that did that. The day or two of pool and classroom teaching then overnight on the boat for a few with dives during the day.
We didn’t do that one because overall it was a day longer than we had to spend there. But it was tempting!
Another few days and I’m off to Las Vegas. Going to do some serious geocaching with friends. Trying to stay out of the casinos shouldn’t be hard when we are wandering around in the middle of the desert.
And the Vegas trip was a huge success. In some respects anyway. Reconnected with friends that I normally don’t see very often and had a great time all around. I have say that while I wandered around the casino I didn’t spend a cent there. Self restraint won out over the desire to see what it was like to throw away 100 bucks.
