Well, be fair, it was a good game, lots of good plays and back and forth. If the Pats had managed to get that last pass, it would have been considered the play of the decade.

I’m still rather fond of the Butt That Won The Superbowl, though.

I apologise to Wales! The game was really close all the way through, and Wales scored a winning penalty kick in the last few seconds!

If the Pats had managed the last last pass (and extra point) I also would have won $250.00 in the pool.

But yes, it was a good game. Close and the Giants won as I expected. I just wanted the Patriots to pull it out.

Well, they really didn’t have much chance at that point. The Giants were just working down the clock. That final TD was supposed to be grounded at the goal, but he couldn’t stop in time. This was to give the Pats absolutely no time to even attempt recovery.

Another play I liked was the stomp-fake that caused a false-start offside. They’re trained for the snap, so when they see that twitch of motion… Well-played.

Hooo… just watchng the insanity that is the DoubleFine Kickstarter campaign.

DoubleFine is the small game studio that has brought some lovely indie hits over the years, most notably Psychonauts, with their head honcho having done some classic vintage adventure titles (Day of the Tentacle, Grim Fandango).

They have decided that they want to make a new adventure game, but the big studios just aren’t interested in it, so they’ve turned to the crowdsouce funding group Kickstarter.

They had no idea what they were in for.

The internet rose up as one being and screamed TAKE OUR MONEY. Within eight hours, the $400,000 goal was met. Within 24 hours, they had breached $1 million, and show no signs of stopping. They still have more than a MONTH to go on the funding drive.

I think part of the enthusiasm is that there has been discussion about making a sequel to Psychonauts. Notch, creator of Minecraft, basically said to DoubleFine ‘So, how much money do you need?’, which has galvanized the various online communities. By supporting this effort, folks are hoping there will be progress made towards Psychonauts 2, and they are probably right.

It’s a bold new era of game production, folks.

I just found out that I’ve been awarded a scholarship! grin  It’s one of the ones for the English department, and it’s actually the one contributed by two of my professors! grin  Looks like it’s just for one school year, which is just fine, since I think that’s all I have left anyhow.  I’m really happy since this means a bit less money that I have to pay back in the end! smile

Right but what does the animal symbol have to do with whether it is a good year or not? Don’t get it.

What’s the context of your question
Do you mean crafty saying it’s the year of the (water) dragon so it should be a good year?
thats cos crafty is really a dragon - we have a few of those on these boards, two or three I think.

We have a few dragons
a diatom
an ancient god

to name but a few

Though little Accipiter
Has yet to name the day.
