Meh.  I don’t understand most men, either.

It’s these long distance relationships that get me unstuck. If I have to start looking again I’ll have to make a point of finding a lady in my own area.

That does generally help.  There’s more that can be understood if you can see the person and evaluate their body language, as opposed to just text on a screen or a phone call.  That’s not to say that they can never work, but they do make things more complicated.  Just ask Smerk and Acci. smile

But didn’t Acci originally descend from Krypton? How can a lady read his body language while he is smashing through brick walls? I suspect Smerk just accepts Acci is an intelligent, fun loving, easy going super-man.

Long-distance can be a good and okay way to begin.

The easiest way to talk to people is via written word.  It gives you time to think before responding.  (I do better this way than in person because I just don’t do well in social situations…I will talk too much until I’m in serious and confused circles because it’s terrifying…which is why I seldom EVER have gone anywhere….meeting Smerk and Acci was very frightening for me but it was also an event I will hold dearly)  So, sometimes you or the lady may be the same way.  But once you get to know the other person via written language, it’s time to move forward and beyond.

The next step that is far more helpful than telephone is video chat.  This gives each of you body language as well as real voice conversation, too and I think that’s vital.

No matter how a relationship begins though, in time there needs to be in the vicinity contact, touch.

Peter, I did it, and so can you.

Communication is the key to any good relationship. Not sure why someone would want a long distance relationship as part of being in a relationship is the physical part of it. To each their own though. Anyway don’t consider that woman and men are different, they’re not really, other than the obvious physical differences. Just be yourself, upfront and don’t think that women are thinking differnetly to you, they’re not. Everyone is individual, so there will be aspectos of personality that don’t match or clash, but don’t forget that there is someone (well more than one, many infact) out there who share’s your interests and activities.
