There was porn there. I can accept Walt Disney was not the pure character he tried to have us believe he was. Although to say he was into Satanism requires some real proof.

To finish off with the conclusions about Satan is going too far. I remember reading about that gesture with the hand and I believe it has more than one meaning.

Yeah….no.  That ‘Satanic hand sign’?  When President and Mrs. Bush make it, at the very least, it is the sign for the Texas Longhorns. When Bono makes it, he’s making the ‘hard rock!’ or ‘rock on!’ hand gesture made by metal and rock artists and fans all over the world.  Whether or not you think metal and rock fans themselves worship Satan is something else entirely.

I didn’t watch the whole video so far, simply skipped to the end as suggested, but from what I remember of Fantasia, it ended with the thing I’ve always called a balrog being suppressed again.  Despite the pron, there was a lot of morality in a lot of Disney’s works, and like a lot of morality stories, things get bad (and even worse) before they get better.

The pentagram in D.C. is something I haven’t seen before, and since I haven’t gone and found my own map, I’m not going to say one way or another if it’s there.  If it is, well, a lot of people think city planners are evil anyway.  Also, what does an owl have to do with Satan?  Maybe I’m just missing something there.

The pentagon being a sign of Satan, on the other hand, is ridiculous.  A lot of ‘Satanic pentagrams’ are surrounded by circles.  Does that mean we should fear circles and people who work in circle-shaped buildings?  (Upon further watching, having only paid half-attention the first time, I see they mention that the shape in the center is a pentagon.  And guess what, it’s gonna be a pentagon in the middle of any five-pointed star you draw, Satanic or not.  Still ridiculous.)

As for obelisks, they are considered a sign of power, yes, and even Vatican City has a plundered Egyptian obelisk.  They are not considered a sign of evil, though, so I don’t know where they were going with that.  The obelisk passed into the realm of neo-classical design, so when Washington D.C. really got in the swing of things and started putting up monuments, they stuck with the neo-classical motif they’d gotten going with.  The Washington Monument is more of a phallic symbol than a Satanic one, but that’s a different mess altogether.

Anyhow, off to watch the rest of the video and scoff some more.

Ok, well, the start of the video is about ‘pop culture hits’ which is not something I have great experience with.  They mention the Number 1 Song of 2008, which is supposedly Katy Perry’s “I Kissed A Girl”.  Despite the, ah, overtones there, I don’t recall any Satanic imagery in that song (not that I’ve heard it more than the once I did for researching this).  According to Billboard’s own chart archives, that song was number one on their Hot 100 chart for seven weeks.  Now, seven weeks is a long time, but… there are songs that have stayed there much longer, and Billboard doesn’t create a compiled list of which song is definitively ‘the best’ for the year.

The Number 2 Song of 2008 is apparently Rhianna’s “Disturbia”, which they show much less of than the Katy Perry video.  While the video is suitably creepy, I don’t find there’s any Satanic imagery there either.  It seems to me that the song is more about personal, inner demons and how they can seem to take over rather than any sort of outside force.  If they’re trying to equate mental breakdowns and mental diseases with Satanism, they’re not going to win any friends that way.  As for it’s position as Number 2?  It was number one on Billboard’s Hot 100 for, uh, two weeks.  There are plenty of other songs that year that stuck around at number one for more than two weeks (and less than seven).  For an example, T.I.‘s “Whatever You Like” was number one on that same chart for five weeks.

Frankly, I don’t see the point, but this video probably isn’t even aimed at me.

Most praised piece of work?  I doubt that.  It was a total failure when it was first produced, and today is fairly well regarded for artistic style but not so much for any other reason.

For one thing, that would be a street plan, not a floor plan.  Also, we’ve already gone over this supposed pentagram on this Forum.  In short:  there can be a sort of weirdly mis-shapen pentagram.

If you redraw some streets, move others, delete others, and so on, then you can make it look even better.  Although it is still oddly squashed.

Of course, if you simply add in and remove lines wherever is convenient, then you can make any symbol that you want there.

As for a reason as to why it is there, well, the fact that there are a number of major streets all converging on the general area of the White House and Capitol Building (as is only natural) on diagonal paths overlaid on a grid pattern of streets, you’re going to get some triangle shapes.

Then there’s the little detail that the pentagram has long been a Christian symbol, representing Christ’s wounds (abdomen, both hands, both feet) and also representing health.  It was used to repel demons.  So even if there was a pentagram intentionally drawn into the street plan of Washington, DC. . .so what?  It could be a sign of the exact opposite of Satanism.  Especially seeing as how the Satanists tend to use it enclosed in a circle, which is noticeably lacking in the street plan.

And notice how while looking for this supposed pentagram, the people are overlooking the literally hundreds of nice Christian crosses in that area, or even the Muslim crescent moons. . .

Why are there obelisks all over the world’s capitals

Because they are big showy things associated with commemoration, and they’re pretty easy to make compared to other tall structures.  As to why the Washington Monument was made as one, well, that’s in part due to the Greek War of Independence in the 1820’s.  The US was all thrilled with the war, seeing it as a follow-up on the American break from Great Britain.  Which is why Greek and classical architecture became a big thing in the US starting in the 1830’s.  And the 1830’s is when the Washington Monument (as well as much of the rest of the city) was designed.

Why is there an owl surrounding the Capitol Building in Washington?

Besides, since when have owls been some sort of Satanic symbol?  I sure can’t find any mention of such a thing anywhere other than those claims made by people such as the folks who made this video.  The owl is associated with wisdom by way of Athena. . .and wisdom is certainly something that the Capitol Building can always use more of.
