I ordered wrecking balm, but they didn’t tell me that I had to sand off my skin. So once I received it, I called them back and asked them for a refund. My first payment was $91.60. They told me that they would refund me a total of $66.65. When I asked them what happened to my money, they claimed that it costs them $24.95 for shipping and handling. What a crock! I shipped the package back to them the same way that they shipped it to me which was priority USPS with comfirmation and it cost me less than $9.00. I have a feeling that it just doesn’t work, so they need to make money on shipping and handling, becasue they get so many returns. I would never recommend it to anyone!
I’m not defending them
but handling charges are usually accrued when the company in question uses a warehouse or has to pay a staff.
Warehouses will charge certain amounts such as a pick charge and and invoice charge, even a label charge in somecases
and these can get quite steep.
I think $10 per order is the minimum I’ve seen. Then there’ll be shipping on top
Secondly if you return the item, the warehouse will charge the company an extra receiving fee.
Most companies that use these facilities will put these extra costs under handling.
Then of course they probably do raise the price a little in order to cover other little charges that might come along and maybe even to make a little profit of the shipping.
My point is I know nothing about the product, how good or how bad it might be
But I’m pretty sure they aren’t making as much on the shipping and handling as you think
assuming they’re making anything.
