Lisa Kantorski took the call from the person who claimed to be a front-desk clerk about a gas leak in their hotel room near Orlando International Airport.

She frantically relayed the information to her husband, Mark, an Indian River County deputy. He followed the caller’s instructions ... and smashed the window of his room with a toilet tank.

“When I broke the window, I got suspicious,” Mark said. “It didn’t seem right, but she [Lisa] was panicking, so I continued.”

Just before 7 a.m. Monday, the Kantorskis had no idea they were the latest victims of a prankster

And then the one time there is a genuine emergency, people will ignore it…

I find it epically bogglign just how many times this prank has been pulled in recent weeks… And just how incredibly dumb people are.

Apparently gullibility is on the rise around the world.

I too worry about the gullibility of some folks. :shut:  Are they no longer teaching common sense or critical thinking skills in schools anymore?

Yowza.

reminds me of the phone “detective” scams that have had fast food managers strip search employees.  How could a person NOT know it was a con?

I seriously hope they catch the people who thought this prank up and carried it out.  The fact that they were heard laughing in the background just angers me more.  If these people had jumped and hurt themselves, these pranksters probably would have laughed even harder.  It’s just not funny to do this sort of thing.  And shame on the people who listened and obeyed these pranksters.  Doesn’t anyone have a bit of sense in their heads anymore?

Some people are so immature. I don’t understand what the appeal is to causing damage and problems for other people. It is a good thing this person didn’t jump, they could have been seriously injured, or worse. I hope they catch this guy, he’ll get his eventually. I am wondering if anyone knows anything about the milo academy, if so please contact me. Thank you.
