Wow… uh… I watched it with the sound off (as I’m still at work), but “metal > ice”?  And he proves it by smacking a die-cast ship against some small ice chunks in his bathtub?  I can’t take any of it seriously… not after that.

It was a scale model test, you can’t dispute scientific scale model scientific science.

Like I said, I had the sound off.  I’ll watch it again when I get home.  I just had to say something about his little boat/tub test.

I got the impression that you’re not supposed to take any of it seriously, actually. . .  wink

Sure you can.  Mythbusters do scientific scale model tests all the time.  They don’t give 100% conclusive results.  They give a guideline for what may or may not happen in a full-size situation.  Sometime their scale model tests show similar results to the actual experiment, sometimes they show results that have nothing to do with the actual results, and sometimes they fail miserably, so they just blow stuff up.

Hmmmm. . .

Right, who volunteers to help blow up a 1:1 scale model of the Titanic, as well as a giant iceberg?  grin
