I recently visited a site that claimed to have had an American plan to invade Canada in 1935. In my opinion, I believe it is fake. What does everybody else think?

Not a hoax, believe it or not!

It was just something the military came up with to practice making war plans. They chose an invasion of Canada on the grounds that, at the time, they'd rather be caught with plans for an invasion that they had no chance of needing to use than plans for invading Germany. Interestingly, the Canadians came up with plans for invading the United States at the same time, for much the same reason. |

The Ameriacn military also had Plan ubber, a hypothetical invasion plan for Brazil if it fell to Nzi influence in the 1930s as well. They had good reason to fear, actually: The Germans had trained many of the serving Brazilian military officers who had Nazi leanings, and the country had a lot of German settlers there as well. Plus which it was the prime source of you-know-what for the USA. |
