Stop! Are those live fish under your skirt?

I could make a really bad joke about this, but I won't...
An Australian woman was found to be carrying 51 live tropical fish after custom officials were alerted by "flipping" noises coming from beneath her skirt as she arrived at Melbourne airport.

A used to work with a guy who had a big salt-water aquarium. One time we were in Hong Kong and told me he could get really good prices on tropical fish in a pet store there. Apparently the store had done this before. They would put the fish in a bag, like the ones illustrated in the CNN story, and charge them up with oxygen so they would survive the 12 hour flight home.
I finally talked him out of it by saying the amount of money he would save would not be worth the risk of getting caught.
I could just imagine the customs official watching the x-ray machine when his bags went through, seeing fish bones swimming in them.
Another colleague once brought home a full size samuri sword and a pellet gun that looked like a real gun. He did not declare either of them! I got into the habit of going through customs by myself and saying I was traveling alone. |

Umm...So spending the money to get to another country to buy cheap fish, is cheaper than buying fish in your local pet store? Tit heads. |
