July 21, 2001 Hi,
I saw your page on hoaxes. I was surprised how gullible I am. I just hope you aren't a big skeptic on everything, though..despite all the hoaxes, God still exists :-) I was wondering if you heard anything about the researchers digging into what they believed to be hell. It was on the Art Bell show. I also want to know if there is anything hoax-like about astral projection, and the same goes for rods. If you are familair with those things...

I would guess there's something quite hoax-like about astral projection, rods, and those researchers digging down to Hell.
July 15, 2001 http://atat.at - german, sorry. But if you read it through babelfish, it's twice as enjoyable!
July 15, 2001 There was an email going around that said if you send it to ten people, you would see Ronald McDonald appear on your screen. A friend received this at work and he replied to the girl who sent it that "Yeah, and if you send it to 20 people, you'll see Ronald McDonald being chased by the Taco Bell dog!" Ten minutes later, her reply was "NO WAY! REALLY? It didn't work for me!" A hoax only works because there are so many stupid people out there! :-)
July 15, 2001 The hoax that "Area 51" actually houses flying saucers. The Air Force stumbled into the greatest cover story ever in 1947. They couldn't have created a better story. They can actually tell the truth and say that "The Tonapah Training Range, or 'Area 51,' is only used to test top-secret experimental aircraft" and no one believes them! People only care about the UFO's, which do not exist, guarunteed.
July 15, 2001 Dear Currator,
Did you hear the account of the Bigfoot corpse recovered in the early 1900s in Canada? Hammer Horror films told this story in 1960s.
I think you're jumping to conclusions on the Shroud. I'd read a few books on it if I were you. It hasn't been proven a hoax so it shouldn't be classified as one.
Some of the facts you're using are incorrect. There was blood on the cloth. Carbon 14 is unreliable, and the test may have been skewed due to the burnt condition, plus there's organic matter(seeds from Holy Land) embedded in the cloth.
Our modern 3-D imagers have shown that the imprint is not surface level like paint but more like a radiation burst. Even a genius like DaVinchi couldn't have created art like that. The only way to get that image is to crucify a man and then wrap him in that cloth.

I've received a lot of e-mail defending the authenticity of the Shroud of Turin. Maybe I'll expand that page sometime in the future to include both sides of the debate and let readers decide for themselves.
July 7, 2001 I have a suggestion, I think you should add more pictures of the pranks to your site. It would make it a lot more interesting to look at!

Agreed, but the pictures aren't always easy to find
