The
Daily Star revealed that scientists at Bournemouth University had been able to bring back the Dodo, that "funny-beaked tropical bird" that had famously gone extinct in the seventeenth century. This had supposedly been achieved by extracting DNA from the skeleton of a dodo in a museum and then combining it with turkey DNA. The name of the keeper in charge of the newly living Dodo was said to be Alf Oropil.
