British supermarket chain Sainsbury's issued a press release announcing that it was stocking a limited edition run of pink avocados, also known as "rosa-vos." This unusual item was said to be a naturally grown hybrid of different avocado varieties, imported from Peru.
A Sainsbury's spokesperson said: "We're always on the lookout for the latest foodie trends. Whilst we know Sainsbury's customers are loyal devotees to the iconic brunch dish, we felt it was about time the humble avo-toast was given a bit of a refresh and social-specific makeover. The crop is foolishly delicious and we can't wait to see how our customers react this April."
